Tzaneen’s police station finally has a new commander. Brigadier Charles Masinamela (47) joined the Danie Joubert Street ranks at the start of January this year from his stint in Polokwane as the head of personnel management. Prior to him joining the Polokwane station in 2016, Brigadier Masinamela was stationed in Bloemfontein in the Free State.
He has expressed his concern over the high number of house and business robberies and has said that these will be his top priorities as he takes the helm. “There really shouldn’t be so much crime in a precinct as beautiful and peaceful as Tzaneen.
The house robberies worry me and shows me that my first order of business should be to get my own officers in order because I will need the right people to bring this crime scourge under control.”
Brigadier Masinamela will be working very closely with the CPF chairperson, Uwe Kröh and the various security groups in the area to tighten the net on the criminals who intend on plaguing the residents of Tzaneen.
