Stanfordian cricketer honoured

Over the past cricket season Lance Trueman represented Aces Cric-ket Club in the 1st Division (Premier League) of the regional  50-over tournament.  Trueman, a Stanford Lake College pupil, was the youngest player in the Premier League.

Playing in nine matches he scored 334 runs, with his highest score being 126 runs at an average of 37.1 per innings. His bowling figures were just as impressive. Bowling a total of 84.4 overs which included 8 maidens, 24 wickets and an economy of 4.9 runs per over.

Lance was selected as the Aces best bowler and overall player of the year at a gala awards ceremony in Polokwane last Friday night. In addition, at the annual Limpopo Impala Cricket Provincial Awards Ceremony, he was selected as the best bowler in the Capricorn District, as well as best overall player in the Premier League.
