Stanford Lake College’s athletics team performed well at this year’s Independent Schools Athletics in Polokwane earlier this month.
The athletes had been training hard since the start of the year for this event and their hard work really paid off with numerous records falling on the day. The school boasted a podium finish by one of their athletes in almost every event.
The depth of this year’s team was demonstrated in the College’s dominance of both track and field events. Stanford Lake won the day by just over 100 points, which is one of the largest winning margins in recent years.
“Congratulations to all the athletes who took part, and thank you to the rest of the school, and parents, who supported them so well,” said Rona McGaffin of Stanford Lake.
Lia Revelas received the Junior Victrix Ludorum while her male counterpart, Rofhiwa Nevhutali took home the Junior Victor. Senior Victrix went to another Stanford athlete, Mokgadi Mangena.
